Join archives and museum educators from across the north east to share with you innovative project based learning using cutting edge university research and archive material.

The afternoon will include:

Kathryn Wharton (GEM Chair) – welcome and short intro to GEM
Professor David Leat (Newcastle University) – Key note on Community Curriculum and Project Based learning
Sara Bird (Learning Arc) – the versatility of archives and a session on a cross curricular HLF Civil War project with year 8
Linda Errington (Berwick Record Office) – using archives and comics with year 9
Tom Elwick (Discovery Museum) – enhancing museum workshops with archive material
Jane Miller (Berwick Museum) – delivering museum family activities with archives

Refreshments will be served on arrival.

This event will be co delivered by Learning Arc. Learning Arc are a group of archives educators from across the North East of England who promote good practice in archives education.
