GEM North East: Supporting Young Peoples Career Aspirations

27 May 2021 @ 14:00 - 15:30

£5

These sessions are designed to go back to basics and focus on activity that forms a core part of cultural and heritage venue offers. Be inspired by examples of practice in our region (and outside!) through these sharing sessions. Our sessions will share activities and ideas for both virtual and in-person learning.

In May we will be exploring how museums can support young people in learning about future career paths, both in the heritage and cultural sector, and the wider local community. We will be joined by:

Fran Gibbin, Assistant Learning Office, Discovery Museum

Fran develops and delivers the schools, family, and young people’s programme across Discovery Museum and Tyne and Wear Archives. During this session, she will share the successes and challenges of running careers fairs in a museum setting and the team’s experiences of taking the careers fair online.

Carl Newbould, Learning and Access Officer (Careers for All), Leeds Museums and Galleries

Emily Tench, Programme and Engagement Manager, The Common Room
