Global Inspirations: Worldwide Anti-racism strategies in museum education
21 May 2024 @ 10:00 - 12:30
Free
Explore how global trends in museum anti-racism practices can inform your own work in Wales.
Even though Wales has its own unique context, there’s a wealth of knowledge to be learned from what’s happening in museum education in countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Canada and the US.
This workshop will explore:
· Innovative approaches to inclusive museum education
· Practical strategies that can be adapted within a Welsh museum setting
· Real-world examples of successful anti-racist initiatives
· Peer learning: an opportunity to discuss new ways forward
This session is aimed at museum educators, curators and staff looking for fresh ideas to help them deliver the Anti-Racist Wales Action Plan.
The workshop will be facilitated by Dr Marian Gwyn, an experienced heritage consultant and museum educator, along with an international museum educator (tbc).
Funded by the Welsh Government as part of its commitment to delivering its Anti-Racist Wales Action Plan. These sessions are for museum and cross-cultural sector staff in Wales.
