Join the Schools and Young Audiences team for a teachers’ professional development online workshop inspired by the exhibition Hiroshige: artist of the open road.This workshop looks at the artwork of Utagawa Hiroshige (1797–1858), one of Japan’s most talented, prolific and popular artists. It will be led by Alfred Haft, JTI Project Curator for Japanese Collections at the British Museum, artist Hiroko Imada, who specialises in teaching Japanese woodblock printing, papermaking, folded screen making and hanging scroll making and printmaker Jo Richardson.
Learn about highlight objects featured in the current exhibition at the British Museum and explore how to integrate diverse creative perspectives into a classroom setting. The workshop will also consider practical art activities inspired by the work of Hiroshige. This inclusive session welcomes everyone interested in enriching their teaching practices. No prior art experience is needed.
Please have some paper, pencils and pens ready to join in during the session.
