On Thursday 7 November 2019 GEM North East are hosting a workshop at Great North Museum: Hancock for mid-career professionals.

Looking after your career: an interactive workshop

Have you ever seen an advert for the perfect job and then doubted if you could apply because your CV didn’t quite match up? Or wondered how you could get over the mid-career hump that can sometimes seem impossible to traverse? This workshop will look at what you can do to put yourself in charge of your own career. It will cover areas such as carrying out a skills audit, exploring career opportunities, and going about goal-setting and what you can do every day to give yourself a better chance of moving on and/or up the career ladder.

Successful Selection

This workshop will highlight good practice recruitment and selection and how understanding this will enable you to perform more effectively at the CV stage and the Interview stage. This 1.5 hour workshop will take you through hints and tips for a powerful CV, covering letter or application, it will explore what you need to take into account to perform well at interview and in addition to explore what you can do to shine at an assessment centre.

Tickets are free for people with a valid GEM membership and £15 (plus booking fee) for non members.
