Gardens, designed landscapes and parkland are an essential part of a historic house or estate and can be successfully utilised to connect with the local community and to provide an outdoor learning space for all ages. Historic Houses’ Outdoor Learning & Community Engagement conference will demonstrate the different ways that places can make use of their gardens, plants and landscapes to attract new audiences, complement existing learning, outreach and engagement programmes, bolster commercial activities and help support strong relationships with local communities for historic houses of all shapes and sizes.
