This is the BIG idea (and indeed question) at the heart of Purposeful Participation – an exciting and generative start point for cultural institutions to work with, opening up new avenues for participation, with people as participants in shaping cultural heritage, and institutions as places for that to happen.

Whilst we know that participation is not a new idea in the Cultural Heritage sector, we believe that truly putting purpose at the heart of how you are working with people is. We’ve developed Purposeful Participation with 12 individuals from 6 organisations spanning the sector, and we’re excited to be sharing and building it further.

But this is your chance to get involved.

2) The Participation Strategy Map: A tool to help you articulate and work back from impact, rather than just delivering cultural experiences for people in the form of visitor attractions (exhibitions, shows etc)
3) Introducing the idea of Cultural Intraprenuer: Unpacking the characteristics needed to get going with this work
4) Inspiration from inside and outside the sector: What this work really looks like in practice
