We’ll discuss various types of professional development, where to access them and how to work with your team to identify their development needs. This session will also cover how COVID has changed what’s available by way of professional development.

This session is ideal for anyone working with teams of staff, volunteers or freelancers.

Kate Fellows @KateHFellows

Kate wants to change the whole world for the better… but she’ll start with Leeds for now! She has worked with object based learning in museums for 17 years for a range of organisations from the National Trust, to Harewood House and IWM North, and is currently the Head of Learning and Access for Leeds Museums and Galleries. She was the 2010-11 Learning Fellow on the Clore Cultural Leadership Programme, is the Chair of the Group for Education in Museums (GEM) Yorkshire and the Yorkshire Accessible Museums Network, and a trustee for Artlink West Yorkshire. 

Frances Jeens @FranJeens (she/her).

Frances Jeens is the Interim Museum Director (formerly Director of Learning and Engagement) at Jewish Museum London. Frances’ learning background has meant that lifelong learning is central to her work with both staff and the public and engagement is at the heart of all her decisions when building a new strategy for the Jewish Museum.
