Join the School and Young Audiences team for a teachers’ professional development workshop led by poet Jenny Mitchell.

In this workshop, inspired by the exhibition Hew Locke: what have we here?, Jenny Mitchell will encourage and support participants to find creative ways to approach questions including:

How do we teach the emotive, challenging and contested history of British colonisation and empire to diverse groups of young people?
Why teach this history at all?
What does it change, and what boundaries do educational practitioners need to have in order to teach in a way that empowers their students?
