As a freelancer you are not just your own boss, but also means your own HR department, compliance, admin, procurement, and much more.  Focusing on securing contracts and delivering them can result in forgetting about these important aspects of managing your business.

This session will look at the hidden costs of being a freelancer, how to develop effective working practices with a value for money approach, and ensure that as a freelancer you are aware of these hidden costs and factor them into day rates.  The session will cover:

• IT procurement & support
• Sick pay and income protection
• Book keeping and general administration
• Office procurement
• Project expenses
• Marketing costs

It will start with a short presentation on the points above followed by a group discussion to share our experiences and support each other.
