The role of the Casual Learning Facilitator is to deliver school workshops during term time and educational activities during school holidays under the direction of the Learning Programmes Manager. The post is casual and on a zero hours basis. Most of your working hours will be booked in advance, however you may occasionally be asked to work at short notice. Working hours will be between 9.30am and 3pm. This post has arisen due to increasing demand for our workshops.
Gilbert White’s House and Gardens encompasses the home of 18th century naturalist Gilbert White and associated listed buildings together with the Field Studies Centre housed in a 16th century Hampshire barn, all set within 30 acres of heritage garden and parkland. It is an accredited museum with charitable status. The museum is also home to the Oates collection relating to the explorations of Frank Oates in Africa and Central America in the 19th Century and Captain Lawrence Oates role in the Terra Nova expedtition to Antarctica 1910-1913.
Our education service welcomes 4,000 pupils per year to participate in a range of workshops with wide curriculum coverage encompassing science, geography, history, art and orienteering. Our informal learning programme offers a range of paid for and free educational activities related to the themes and stories of our museum.
