Stanmer Restoration Project
Tenders are invited from a suitable individual to work as a Freelance Education Consultant to help to coordinate content, develop and produce a syllabus learning resource for key stages 1-4 and deliver outdoor learning sessions for the Stanmer Restoration Project.
With funding and support from the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Big Lottery Fund, together with other stakeholders we are engaged in a programme of restoration of Stanmer Park.
It will be important for the appointee to work flexibly over the lifetime of the Stanmer project and to respond to external deadlines, as these may change.
Budget of £17,000.00 has been allocated for this role.
Stanmer Park is the largest public park in Brighton and Hove, and attracts more than 500,000 visitors every year. Stanmer is a rare survival of an eighteenth-century estate landscape, and features 27 listed buildings and structures. However, its significance is under-valued, many of its historic structures are at risk, and the captivating stories of Stanmer’s past and present are not being told.
A central objective for engaging an Education Consultant project is to bring these stories to the fore, providing educational resources to learning establishments across the city and further. Communicating the rich heritage of the Estate, its landscapes and the people who have lived here over the centuries will greatly enhance young visitors’ experience and understanding of the Park, and do justice to Stanmer’s fascinating history.
