GEM Arts Scholars Enriching Lives Grant Programme 2025-2027
We are excited to announce the launch of the GEM Arts Scholars Enriching Lives Grant Programme, a new funding opportunity made possible through the generous support of the Company of Arts Scholars Charitable Trust.
With a total fund of £40,950, this programme will provide small grants to museums and heritage organisations across the UK over three years, supporting projects that:
Enrich the cultural lives of pupils in both primary and secondary schools by enabling them to experience at first hand works of fine and decorative arts.
Key Details
- Eligibility: Applicants must be UK-based, institutional members of GEM and also registered charities or local authorities.

Applications are welcome from organisations with an annual turnover (total annual income) of £300,000 or less.
- Funding available: Grants of up to £4,500, payable in three annual instalments.
- Project scope: This new grant programme supports learning projects inspired by fine, decorative and applied art collections. A wide range of artistic disciplines and materials that exemplify creativity and craftsmanship can be the focus including painting, sculpture, drawing, design, decoration, ceramics, textiles, metalwork and more.
How to Apply
Applications for the grant programme are now closed. Successful applicants will receive their first-year instalment in March/April 2025 to begin their projects.
Grant recipients are required to:
- Submit short project reports for publication on GEM and Arts Scholars platforms.
- Provide high-quality images of their projects, with 3rd party permissions secured for use.
- Publicly acknowledge GEM and the Arts Scholars in social media, websites, or printed materials.
This programme represents a shared commitment by GEM and the Arts Scholars to make heritage learning more accessible, inspiring young learners to engage with arts, culture and heritage in a meaningful way.
