I am a story hunter. I join Lottery Heritage projects to explore jungles of online documents and visit wow archives and mysterious museum stores to find forgotten stories or objects. I then guide volunteers towards activity and interpretation plans and scripts to deliver either displays, guided tours or website content.

I have worked for over 30 years in local authority museums in the south-east and the odd private museum, starting in museum education then mostly in exhibitions. I evolved into a project manager and producer (especially for the National Trust) with a bit of community oral history. I enjoy listening to all the wonderful stories from archivists, curators and volunteers which keeps my curiosity alive during these rollercoaster times of being a freelancer and juggling family life.

My name is Jason Hulott and I am the chief instructor at Canterbury Medieval Combat and Nishimon Dojo. I have been teaching Medieval weapon-based arts for 20 years. I have a main background in Japanese Iaijutsu and Kenjutsu.  In the last 7 years I have been teaching European medieval combat, primarily following the martial system of the German tradition.

I am a museum trustee for the Combined Military Services Museum in Maldon, a historical book reviewer for Pen and Sword books.  I have also run combat workshops for a range of institutions and worked with authors to make their fictional combat scenes more historically accurate.
