About

I am a professional illustrator specialising in children’s illustration, with 15 years experience working within the museums and heritage sector.

My work has bold lines, strong characters and a touch of humour which all help to bring a subject matter to life and spark the curiosity of young audiences. With a passion for history, I love to research costumes and characters, and draw together little details from historical references to add authenticity to my work and make it engaging and memorable.

I graduated from University College Falmouth in 2008 with a degree in Illustration. I currently live in Bristol, UK. Previous clients include; The Canal & Rivers Trust, Lonely Planet, Mary Rose Society, British Postal Museum, Hachette Children’s, Oxford University Press.

More Details

“I have known Sophie since she first started out as an illustrator. Since then she has developed into a skilled illustrator and valued colleague, contributing fresh, fun ideas on interpretation and characterisation. Her work for me, on a wide variety of projects, always elicits a delighted response from both adults and children. Most important of all, she is thoroughly dependable always delivering her work on time and to budget.” – Elizabeth Newbery, Author
