GEM is hiring a new Learning and Communications Manager. This is an exciting time to join our team, leading learning and communications for GEM – the Group for Education in Museums.

GEM is a membership organisation supporting everyone delivering learning in museums and heritage settings. This role is responsible for delivering membership benefits, leading on GEM’s communications and programme management. The Learning and Communications Manager will be an essential part of GEM’s team delivering benefits to its 1500 members across the UK and advocating for the importance of learning. The GEM office is based at the Historic Dockyard Chatham, GEM is flexible and supports some homeworking for this role, depending on the candidate’s circumstances/commute time.

GEM’s National Lottery Heritage Fund Project, A Stronger GEM for a Stronger Sector is underway and working together with GEM’s Director and Trustees, this role provides an opportunity to contribute to the future of GEM, helping to support its transformation and partnership development.
