Group for Education in Museums (GEM) champions excellence in heritage learning to improve the education, health and wellbeing of the general public. GEM is for everyone interested in learning through museums and heritage.

GEM East Midlands invites learning, museum and teaching professionals in the East Midlands to its second virtual coffee morning on Thursday 21st January, 10am – 11am. This coffee morning is for anyone working or volunteering in a heritage or school setting, who is interested in learning through museums and heritage.

During the coffee morning you’ll meet GEM East Midlands’ representatives. We’ll share information about the work of GEM along with its plans to support the museum and heritage sector in the East Midlands. We will also be focusing on the topic of digital learning offers for schools with case studies from museums.

We’ll invite you to share your thoughts on how we can best support your work. This might be developing new skills, supporting knowledge around the curriculum or sharing experiences of reopening heritage sites and developing learning programmes in light of the pandemic.

This meeting will be held via Zoom. You will be sent a joining link 2 hours before the event is scheduled to start.
