We are thrilled to announce a renewed partnership with the Network of European Museum Organisations (NEMO). This collaboration will involve the establishment of mentoring partnerships for international NEMO members, fostering cross-border connections within the vibrant museum community.

NEMO stands out as a dynamic network comprising museum organisations and museums from across Europe, collectively representing over 30,000 museums. NEMO aims to ensure that museums become integral components of European life, advocating for their significance to policymakers and offering valuable opportunities, information, and networking to member organizations.

This partnership aligns with GEM’s commitment to promoting rich learning environments and enhancing public engagement within museums. NEMO’s strategic focus on recognising museums as hubs of learning resonates with GEM’s own mission and vision, creating a harmonious synergy between the two organisations.

To facilitate this exchange of expertise and bolster the international museum sector, GEM will be providing mentoring opportunities for 10 NEMO members across Europe. Through the One to One Mentoring Programme, GEM mentors will have the fantastic opportunity to guide and support mentees from various European countries, fostering collaboration and strengthening ties with museum organizations overseas.

GEM’s One to One Mentoring Programme, designed to support learning professionals in the museums and heritage sector, has been a beacon of connection and growth since its launch in Spring 2020. Having facilitated over 250 mentoring partnerships, the programme has been instrumental in enabling professionals to connect and learn, especially during the challenging times brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Stay tuned as we embark on this exciting journey of collaboration and knowledge exchange, bringing museums from different corners of Europe closer together!
