Join GEM North East to find out how the autism acceptance award works and visit the Centre of Life for first-hand experiences of how the award has enhanced their venue’s access for autistic people.

Kerrie Highcock from North East Autism Society will explain what the award is and how your organisation can sign up. David Jones from the Centre of Life will then provide examples of how this venue has worked towards this award before we all go on a visit over to the Centre of Life to see those first-hand examples of how the award has enhanced the visitor experience for autistic people.

There will be plenty of time for questions throughout the session.

You will even get a cuppa and some biscuits.

Please note that for part of this session we will be visiting another venue, so please be prepared for a short walk over and bring a coat in case of wet weather.

All those who work or think about education or visitor engagement in a museum, gallery or heritage setting are welcome, whether you are a GEM member or not.
