Effective mentors can offer unbiased, vital formal and informal support to young people to nurture growth and raise aspirations. This course outlines the role of the mentor, and the necessary skills to build productive mentee-mentor relationships. Learn how to guide young people to self-reflect, identifying both their strengths and areas for development, set goals and shape behaviours and mindset.

Following a successful three-year programme (Stepping Up: Young Leaders Training), Artswork, Oxfordshire Youth Arts Partnership Trust (OYAP) and Oxford Brookes University have teamed up to bring you this course. Exploring the principles of mentoring, you will be equipped with the tools to support the next generation of creative practitioners and leaders.
