North East Natter: Secondary Science

26 October 2023 @ 15:00 - 16:00

Free

Thursday 26 October 2023, 3pm – 4pm

FREE event for members and non-members

Join GEM North East for an informal online natter to discuss the ways we can work with Secondary schools on science-based learning.

Baz Rashid from Museums Development North West and Manchester Museum, will share how you can use museum collections and spaces to engage with schools and colleges around science and the school curriculum. His workshop will showcase the types of science workshops that are delivered to schools and colleges across Greater Manchester and how the museum celebrates special science-themed days such as British Science with schools

There will be then plenty time for questions and sharing of our own practice.

Take a break from emails and bring along your favourite drinks and snacks. All those who work or think about education in a museum, gallery or heritage setting are welcome, whether you are a GEM member or not.

If you have any questions, please contact [email protected]

Abou Baz Rashid

At Manchester Museum he used to manage the science programmes and projects for secondary schools and college pupils. One of his remits was to target disadvantaged schools and widen the participation rates of disadvantaged children in higher education/university to increase social mobility in strong partnership with the widening participation team
