We are looking for an experienced Heritage Activity Consultant, with a passion for natural heritage and environmental sustainability to lead the successful delivery of our NLHF funded project ‘A Wild Journey’.
St John’s Church is a Grade II listed Victorian church on Moulsham Street at the edge of Chelmsford City Centre. The church has high numbers of people walking past it each day, as it is a main route through Old Moulsham into the city.
Our project will establish St John’s churchyard as a hub to gather, a space of quiet reflection and time out from people’s busy lives, to learn and explore the natural environment. A place where the natural world has the right habitats survive and thrive.
Through a mix of landscaping works, accessibility improvements and small repairs to the external building, we are creating a space that can be well used for local people. The project will create opportunities for engagement and learning in natural heritage, supporting environmental sustainability and biodiversity, sensory experiences, community led projects and events.
The consultant will be expected to lead the church through the completion of the activity programme, including working with existing and potential new project partners and building a volunteer team/
