Join us for an informal virtual briefing and discussion session to inspire your own wellbeing themed Takeover Day.

Kids in Museums Takeover Day is when museums, galleries, historic homes, archives and heritage sites invite young people in to take over jobs normally done by adults. This year Takeover Day is on Friday 18 November.

Our Digital Takeover Day event, when young people take over museums’ and heritage sites’ social media and digital content, is on Friday 1 July.

The theme for our Takeover Day events in 2022 is wellbeing. We want to highlight the important role museums can play in supporting young people’s mental health and wellbeing. After the challenges of the last two years, it is more important than ever to provide meaningful experiences and support young people’s creative ideas, allowing them to shape what they want to see from museums.

In this session, we will:

– provide a range of ideas to inspire your own wellbeing themed Takeover Day by local children and young people
– hear a case study from Dulwich Picture Gallery, about how they incorporate wellbeing into their work with young people
– create opportunities for attendees to informally share their ideas and other projects they have undertaken around wellbeing.
