This Kids in Museums training day explores ways that museums and heritage organisations can support the wellbeing of children and families.

What can museums and heritage organisations do to support the wellbeing of children and families in their local community?

This training day will be based at Manchester Museum, which alongside The Whitworth and Manchester Art Gallery, has a pioneering and long-established health and wellbeing programme with their local community.

You will hear about their work with children and families from the perspective of their staff, health care partners and participants.

We are also delighted to include speakers from the Fitzwilliam Museum and National Museum Wales who will present case studies about their innovative provision.

This training will help you to:
– gain an understanding about the factors that affect the wellbeing of children and families
– learn about the policy context for this audience
– work in partnership with local community and health organisations
– use the museum environment to support the wellbeing of children and families
– discuss with speakers how to overcome challenges and ideas you have for undertaking this work in your organisation.

This training is aimed at staff who work in museums, art galleries and heritage sites who are interested in supporting the wellbeing of children and families within their organisation.

This training will be delivered by Kids in Museums in collaboration with the Culture, Health and Wellbeing Alliance. The event is part of Creativity and Wellbeing Week.
