Are you a learning practitioner at a museum or other cross-sector site in Wales? GEM Cymru invites you to participate in an inspiring and transformative workshop focusing on delivering anti-racist education at your sites. Building on the success of last year’s pilot training sessions, this free webinar will dive into developing culturally sensitive and inclusive education provision and offer insights into fostering an inclusive learning environment.

Key themes for the day:

• Developing cultural competence in the workplace by exploring examples of best practice.

• Developing resilient heritage and inclusive histories in museums and cultural sites through the new curriculum’s Areas of Learning.

• Understanding concepts of racism.

• Delivering anti-racist practice at cultural sites.

The workshop is led by Dr Marian Gwyn, an experienced heritage consultant who specialises in inclusive histories, and Katie Donovan-Adekanmbi, a highly skilled and experienced anti-racism and community cohesion trainer.

Joining them will be two youth engagement specialists of minority ethnic heritage, who will share their knowledge and take your questions.

Funded by the Welsh Government as part of its commitment to delivering its Anti-Racist Wales Action Plan.
