Developing digital / hybrid learning in museums, archives and local studies libraries. Part Three: Hybrid Heritage Learning in Wales

5 February @ 10:00 - 12:00

Developing digital / hybrid learning in museums, archives and local studies libraries

A chance for museum, archive and library professionals in Wales to explore how they can develop their heritage education service using digital engagement and how it links to your physical learning offer.

After consulting with sector professionals and teachers, the Group for Education in Museums Cymru, funded by the Welsh Government Culture Division, have commissioned Emily Nelson of Leeds Museums & Galleries to design a short training programme for heritage learning professionals in Wales. The award winning Leeds Curriculum, (see https://www.mylearning.org/) developed by the education team at Leeds Museums and Galleries has very similar characteristics to the new Curriculum for Wales in it’s emphasis on local history, stories and experiences. So the digital / hybrid learning resources developed by Leeds Museums & Galleries are especially relevant to heritage education professionals, volunteers and practitioners in Wales

These three online training sessions will enable delegates to gain an understanding of hybrid learning, how your service can best use collections in a digital format and how to build your digital learning offer alongside your onsite education programme.

Heritage learning professionals and volunteer staff are encouraged to attend all three sessions if possible.

This training will be delivered in English, simultaneous translation will be available on request if you would prefer to contribute in Welsh.

Session 3 5th February 2024 10am to 12pm

Digital / hybrid heritage learning in Wales: GEM Cymru will bring together and showcase models of digital / hybrid heritage learning across Wales from various providers such as the National Library, The Egypt Centre, The Welsh School History Initiative and other good practice examples from museums, archives and libraries.
