HOW TO: Procure Professional Services

This 45-minute session (inc. 15-minutes for Q&A) is led by Rosie Fraser, Vice Chair of London Historic Buildings Trust, and CEO of Southbank Sinfonia at St John’s Smith Square.

Professional services are inevitably required in any type of heritage project. It’s important to that you get your procurement right or you can risk appointing inappropriate candidates and/or services you don’t need, which can have programme, financial or possibly contractual complications.

Good procurement, from preparing briefs, through to advertisement and appointment, will ensure you have a robust and relevant team of professionals in place that will help you deliver your project to its best potential.

Rosie will introduce:

-Procurement – purpose and process
-Preparing briefs; standard contents for any service
-Preparing briefs; what to include for construction-focused services (e.g. Architect, Quantity Surveyor, Contractor etc.)
-Advertisement, assessment, interviewing and appointment
-Top Tips on procurement
-Links to further information and resources

This session is aimed at those new to developing and delivering heritage projects, or those that want to refresh their existing knowledge.
