Join Kids in Museums for an informal virtual briefing and discussion session to inspire your own play themed Takeover Day.

Kids in Museums Takeover Day is when museums, galleries, historic homes, archives and heritage sites invite young people to take over jobs normally done by adults for the day. This year Takeover Day is on Friday 17 November.

The theme for Takeover Day in 2023 is Let’s Play! We are encouraging museums to give children and young people permission to be playful in their spaces. Highlighted in our Kids in Museums Manifesto, play helps children to learn, engage with your collections, get creative, support their own wellbeing, and have fun.

In this session, we will:
– provide a range of ideas to inspire your own play themed Takeover Day by local children and young people
– hear a case study from Royal Cornwall Museum about their play themed Digital Takeover Day in July 2023
– create opportunities for attendees to informally share their ideas and other projects they have undertaken around play.
