Join Suffolk Archives at The Hold in Ipswich for a free CPD study day covering how heritage and culture organisations can explore and celebrate stories of migration past and present. On Thursday 28th March 10-4pm.

As part of Suffolk Archives NLHF funded project Arrivals, this study day is aimed at staff and volunteers working in heritage, culture, arts and volunteering organisations and venues. It would be particularly useful for organisations or practitioners who are interested in starting, or expanding their work and collections exploring migration, refugees and celebrating different cultures.

Sessions will include talks from the Suffolk Archives team about the Arrivals project and our work with contemporary collecting, community engagement, exhibition co-curation and volunteering. We will be joined by the Migration Museum who will talk about their work and future plans, as well as a selection of presentations from local museums and organisations working on themes of migration. A full programme will be shared nearer the time.

There will be time to visit the Arrivals exhibition at The ​Hold, as well as join an ​optional ​introduction to oral history training session.

The day is free to attend and refreshments and lunch will be provided.
