GEM is delighted to announce that it has received a conditional offer of funding from the Arts Council England 2023 – 2026  Investment Programme. Focusing on supporting learning, GEM will become part of the National Portfolio as an Investment Principle Support Organisation (IPSO), working with museums to deliver the “Let’s Create” strategy.

This funding will enable GEM to support learning focusing on two of the investment principles – Ambition & Quality and Inclusivity & Relevance which form part of the ACE Let’s Create Strategy.

This opportunity will enable GEM to strengthen and empower the museum learning sector for the benefit of the public across the breadth of England. As a National organisation, GEM remains committed to continuing our support for the museum learning community across all four nations, and we will continue to work with agencies in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland alongside this funded programme.

We would like to thank everyone who has been involved in supporting GEM and sharing our Vision for the future throughout this journey. We look forward to telling you more about our planned activities in the near future – and having you on board – as members, mentors, Nation/Area reps, volunteers, contributors to GEM publications and more.

GEM recognises that the ACE NPO announcement last Friday wasn’t good news for everyone in the sector and our thoughts are with everyone who has received less positive news. GEM will work hard to support everyone delivering learning, with a focus on increasing access and engagement across the cultural sector.

Let’s continue to connect and learn together.
