About
I am a former museum educator and qualified teacher. I now used my lived experience of being autistic, otherwise neurodivergent and having other hidden disabilities to make museums and heritage more accessible to a wider audiences. I am also passionate about making museums, galleries and heritage sites more inclusive places to work.
More Details
I have worked in a variety of museum and heritage sites across the last ten years, predominantly delivering and supporting the creation of school workshops. I have also worked on event programmes and support the delivery of daily activities. As well as my work in museums, I am also a qualified teacher and have worked within mainstream education settings.
Following my autism diagnosis in 2020, I wanted to change the narrative of what it means to autistic and highlight that there are really simple things you can do to be accessible.
I work with museums as a consultant and trainer to understand what is currently accessible for autistic/neurodivergent people and people with hidden disabilities. I also provide recommendations and support for access work going forward. Everything I do is tailored to the site.
I am incredibly passionate about museums and ensuring that they are accessible, both to visit and work in, to a wider range of people.
