HistoryNeedsYou are a public history consultancy, specialising in working with hard to reach and diverse audiences, for community cohesion, community wellbeing and education, across the UK. Social history, immersive stories and cross cultural connections delivery in accessible, inclusive and engaging ways is where we shine. We deliver history in detail and depth too. We are Matthew Ward Hunter and Gill Fraser Lee, and have been working together for 10 years.

We prefer to work with clients to scope the project at an early stage to make sure delivery achieves the project aims and creates a long-term legacy. We work with museums, heritage organisations and properties, natural heritage organisations, education, charities, local authorities, film and tv.

We deliver a wide range of services, shaped to meet the project’s needs: performance; film-making and voiceover; accessible and interactive drama; playful activities and accompanying printed/downloadable materials; large-scale immersive events; exhibition design; website design; consultancy; broadcasting; oral history and reminisence sessions; home-school enrichment, and much more! We love a challenge so throw us a curveball!
