More Details

Katy has 12 years’ experience in the heritage sector. Starting out as a commercial archaeologist, Katy specialises in making archaeology and heritage accessible to all audiences.

Three years as a Park Ranger gave Katy a solid grounding in outdoor learning and volunteer management. Katy has four years’ experience in the museum’s sector, delivering a large oral history project in Dunfermline Museum and in creating exhibitions and events for Stromness Museum. Katy also undertook a year’s Community Archaeology Bursary with Northlight Heritage, which provided plenty of opportunities to develop and deliver projects in a heritage setting with a range of audiences.

As a freelancer Katy’s clients include: Historic Environment Scotland; Inchinnan Historical Interest Group; Bespoke Atelier; Amisfield Walled Garden; School of Ancient Crafts. Most recently, Katy has been working with harder-to-reach audiences including Young Carers, Dads and Kids groups and children with additional needs.

Katy also has experience in writing funding applications.
