About
I have over 20 years’ experience of designing interactive exhibitions for Museums and Visitor centres. I am particularly passionate about finding interesting and playful ways to engage visitors with exhibition themes, using lively and varied interpretive styles and catering for different audiences and learning styles.
I am experienced at working from initial concept design through to detailed design and overseeing the tendering process, fabrication and installation in both 3d and 2d design. I understand the rigorous demands required of exhibition interactives and the sensitivities involved in displaying museum objects.
I have designed temporary, travelling and permanent exhibitions. I have very much enjoyed designing play spaces for younger audiences, but also the challenges involved in the display of delicate artworks.
More Details
Previous projects I have designed include Your Amazing Brain – A User’s Guide for Banbury Museum and the Wellcome Institute for Neuroimaging, Aardman Animating Early Man for MShed, Curiosity, a play space for under 7 year olds at the Bristol Museum and Art gallery, Leonardo 10 Drawings and Beryl Cook: larger than life both for the Bristol Museum and Art Gallery.
Earlier in my career I was a project designer for The Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre in Great Missenden.
Recently I have been working with Wakefield Council to complete the concept designs for the new vision they have for a combined Children’s Museum and Library.
