About
I have over 30 years experience working in indepnedent, local authority and national museums and galleries. For much of the time I was a senior manager and head of department. Past organisations include:
- Royal Armouries
- London Transport Museum
- Brent Museum and Archive
- National Portrait Gallery
- National Museums Scotland
At NMS I had responsibility for the development and delivery of learning and outreach provision across all our museum sites. I was also part of the team that delivered the £80m transformation of the National Museum of Scotland (2005-2019) and curated a major special exhibition Rip It Up: The Story of Scottish Pop Music (2018).
Since 2020 I have been a freelance consultant, working with a range of organisations on strategic developments, funding bids and interpration projects. Clients include: National Trust for Scotland; Historic Environment Scotland; Dundee Heritage Trust; City of Edinburgh Council; National Museums Liverpool; NatureScot; Lanark Community Development Trust; Seven Stories. I am a member of CMC Associates, a consortium of freelances.
I am a member of Museums Association and the Association of Heritage Interpretation.
