This is an exciting time to join our team, leading communications and marketing for GEM – the Group for Education in Museums. Apply now for this 9-month contract, 3 days a week – Salary £28,500 FTE (Pro rata salary £17,100).
GEM is a membership organisation supporting everyone delivering learning in museums, heritage and cultural settings. The GEM Communications Manager is responsible for leading on GEM’s communications, digital developments, website, publications, conference / events (online and in person when restrictions allow). This role helps to deliver the GEM membership strategy, ensuring and communicating member benefits and supporting the GEM network of area representatives. The role also contributes to advocacy for GEM working with a range of partners and supports GEM’s professional development programme including training and resources across all four nations of the UK.
The GEM office is based at the Historic Dockyard Chatham, GEM is flexible and supports some homeworking for this role, depending on the candidate’s circumstances/commute time. Candidates must possess strong digital, communications and marketing skills including event management knowledge and preferably some graphic design experience.
