GEM East of England
The East of England area includes Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk, and Suffolk. It, therefore, covers a large geographical area with a diverse membership. Your Area Representatives are keen to reflect and respond to this variety so we’d love to hear what you’d like us to offer! Across the year we run friendly in-person and online meet-ups. These often include informal training from peers and from people with expertise outside the museum sector. Please get in touch if you’d like to share your experience and knowledge, however modest, with fellow GEM members.
Burwell Museum & Windmill
Alison is an escaped primary school teacher who has worked in museums since 2013. She is now working in museum education at Burwell Museum and Windmill and the Whipple Museum of the History of Science, both in Cambridgeshire. She enjoys gardening, dancing, and music.
Jo is a freelancer based in Essex. She works in museum learning and delivers training on disability and neurodiversity. Jo would love to work with and assist your museum. To find out more, please visit: https://gem.org.uk/suppliers/jo-gillam/. When Jo isn’t also visiting heritage sites for pleasure, Jo is a carer, volunteer, gardener, nature-lover, choir-member, crafter, cat-mum, and prospective Suffolk resident!
